good riddance and welcome aboard!

A Happy New Year to all of my wonderful friends, regardless of how many legs they have. I have a good feeling about this coming trip around the Sun, and I enter it with more optimism than I have had in a couple dozen years. No matter what, it's going to be good to finally put a mercy bullet in the head of the Decade of the Double Zeroes.

The best is yet to come.

Happy Solstice!

This is my favorite day of the year. From this day on, for the next six months, the sunlit percentage of every twenty-four hours increases until the summer solstice when the process reverses itself. The long march into darkness is over for another year!

Screwed Again!

(Cross-posted from Ronni's Rants)

I don't know if it will do any good at all, but you'd all better contact your senators and congressmen, because the health care reform that we all set our hopes on has been emasculated and poisoned.

Or, as one of the talking heads has said, "It's not health, it's not care, and it's not reform."

It's millions of Americans served up to the insurance companies on a silver platter.

Single payer: killed.

Public option: killed.

Extension of Medicare: killed.

So we are left with a load of crap. Oh, on one hand they say that they can no longer reject people for pre-existing conditions...but they can charge them a lot more than other people. They can't refuse older people...but they can charge them more than younger people. They can't enforce a lifetime benefit cap...but they can enforce an annual cap.

And they are going to make it a law that we have to buy into this crap...unless we can prove we can't afford it.

That's it in a nutshell.

Thanks to a lot of assholes (cough--Joe Lieberman--cough) who forgot that they were elected by US and not by insurance companies.

Maybe the Repugnicans are right...maybe the Democrats can't legislate their way out of a wet paper bag! How can they let this happen, with one of the largest majorities in years? When they were elected for the purpose of reforming health care.

They suck and we're fucked.

Olbermann asked Scrooge's question: "Are these the shadows of things that Will be, or are they shadows of things that May be, only?"

I think it's time to scream and yell.

"compromise"

It appears that the fix is in, and the idiot democrats are grinning about how "thirty million people will now get health insurance." No, thirty million people who can't afford it are going to be legally required to buy shitty health insurance from your lobbyist overlords so they can suck up whatever loose coins remain in the public's pockets.

When I hear these useless majority-holding tools bragging about compromising with King Joseph, all I can hear is "well, it was a hard-fought battle, but we've finally negotiated the right to spit on the elephant's cock once before he rams it up your ass."

All hail President Palin.

help wanted

Can anybody get in touch with the guy that beat the fuck out of Sylvio Berlusconi and introduce him to Joe Lieberman? If there's anyone that needs some teeth knocked out, it's that little bastard asshole.
