insecuring the homeland

From what information I have been able to scrape together from our snoozing media, it looks like Port Hueneme in California was shut down for several hours today as the result of the threat of terrorist activity there.

So far, the threat seems to have been...

...ambiguous graffiti scrawled on the side of a shipping container at the port, something about "GW" and "this nitroglycerin is for you."

These media-pushed terror lockdowns are the new, colorless terror alerts, performing the same function as the color-changes of Campaign '04.

And, apparently the American law enforcement, public, and press are stupid enough to swallow the notion that Osama Bin Laden is going to be hand-writing mash notes to Bush on his next big attack. And "nitroglycerin." That's so 1890's.

Update, CNN - a bulkhead in a cargo ship had the message "this nitro's for you, George W. Bush, and your Jewish cronies" painted on it. Obviously the doing of somebody fashioned of pure evil, much like the Bruce Willis character in "The Jackal." Thank goodness we're spying on his checkbook balance.

That one slid right by me! LOL!

Of course, I've been a bit busy ticking off my fellow theater board members and fielding the fallout from that, as well as trying to moderate the blog war.

You know...important stuff.

Can you post a link to the place you got the info?

It was an early report on CNN at the first Lou Dobbs segment of the day. Haven't seen it anywhere else yet.
