onward, hypochristian soldiers

ABC television is under fire for a skit that opened Monday Night Football last night featuring an actress from ABC's high-rated show, "Desperate Housewives." The actress, in character and dressed only in a towel, showed up in the team's locker room and seductively offered a football player the opportunity to spend some time with her, dropping the towel revealing a bare back as the skit ended. Once again, the conservative busybodies that want to run everybody else's life are up in arms, much like with the Janet Jackson Super Bowl incident, and the FCC is considering fines after receiving the usual complaints.

All I can say is, thank goodness somebody is being proactive in keeping football the pure, noble endeavor that it is. I mean, what is more a reflection of those "values" these people claim to hold so dear than watching grown men who are often steroid and recreational drug abusers, many of whom are convicted felons, breaking whatever rules they can get away with as they violently beat the hell out of each other for more money per game than most Americans make in a year?
