Don't you love the Bush crew's talent for misdirection? When events start to hurt the administration politically, there's always some story that comes up and changes the subject. The cable news channels have been making a lot of hay the last couple of days over the indignant reports that FEMA emergency funds were used to obtain football tickets, x-rated videotapes, and "even a sex-change operation."

Of course, none of them mentioned that FEMA emergency funds were also used to obtain thirty-eight thousand still-unused and rotting emergency trailers meant to house the victims.

No, no, no. Can't bring that into it.

Not when there are hundreds of thousands of nameless brown people to act as scapegoats for the immense fraud that followed on the heels of the storm.
