obscenity

So it seems that every gallon of gasoline that the US military is using in Afghanistan costs four hundred dollars. That means that the enlisted man at the motor pool who has the job of filling up the military Hummers before they go on patrol squirts his annual salary into a fuel tank in about two minutes.

Or, enough money to provide full health care coverage for four Americans for one year.

Per tank.

This country has been wasting hard-earned resources on waging war continuously around the globe for sixty years now with no justifiable reason. It is time to stop this massive transfer of wealth once and for all.

The more cynical response: $400 a gallon? Better there than here, I suppose. Are they buying their gas from M & M Enterprises or what?

Probably have to ship it from the Gulf to the US and then to Afghanistan.

Why can't we get the hell out of there and let them blow each other up? Try looking after our own for a while!

I hate to be that parochial, but we need health care. A hell of a lot more people die for want of health care than from terrorism.

We need to work out some arrangement with the world whereby being invaded by us is an 'opt-in' situation.
