god is dead
Well, Charlton Heston, anyway. Farewell to one of the last real movie stars.
Despite his gun-nutty religiosity, I can't help but fondly remember the man that brought me Planet of the Apes, Soylent Green, and The Omega Man, three of the most wonderful science-fiction films of all time.

yep, now he's just another one of those "dead white guys"
Somebody said he had Alzheimer's? I wouldn't wish that on anyone...
maybe that explains his interview with Michael Moore in Bowling for Columbine....
My father is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. It scares the crap out of me, because even at 70 I expect that someday he will go, but losing another father will ultimately kill me.
That said, I sure as hell hope that the decisions and convictions were made because of the disease, much like Reagan. Otherwise I still hold him as demonesque.
While I greatly dislike the politics of the man, I love the artist.
