premising the assumption

I've been listening to the television drone on for the last few hours, and one of the cable "science" channels is airing another biblical archaeology show. At one point, the narrator introduced the segment to follow a commercial break with "next, archaeologists search for the birthplace of jesus."

That sentence has no more place in a science program than does "next, primatologists describe the social hierarchy of bigfoot families" or "next, biologists discuss the mating habits of unicorns."
